Neumann Sponsors Voices for a Cause

Los Angeles – September 22, 2011 – Audio specialists Sennheiser and Neumann have teamed with NY-based agency Push Creative to co-sponsor That’s Voiceover!, a comprehensive, one-day voiceover event and career seminar featuring more than 20 industry professionals and voiceover industry insiders from New York to Los Angeles. The event will take place on October 6 and will provide a penetrating look into the world of voiceover acting, as well as outlining the steps required to establish a successful voiceover career.

Hosted by talk show host and author Rolonda Watts and voiceover actor, author and Neumann-sponsored artist Joan Baker, That’s Voiceover! will feature first-hand insight from more than 20 industry professionals — including New York radio personality Valerie Smaldone, high-profile television announcer Joe Cipriano, AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris, movie trailer voices Bill Ratner and George DelHoyo, and many others. Aspects such as writing, producing, directing and other roles associated with the profession will be covered. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care and support.

Choosing the Right Tool for the Job

As part of That’s Voiceover!, Christopher Currier and Christopher Spahr of Sennheiser and Neumann will conduct a special hour-long workshop focused on how to choose the right microphone for the job, as well as how to apply basic studio tips and tricks designed to help bring out the best in a voiceover performance.

Through a partnership with local retailer RSPE, Neumann also will also be offering each person who attends a special discount on its line of studio microphones.

Neumann will feature its latest studio microphone, the TLM 102, which is perfectly suited to capture the sonic detail of vocals and speech recording.

Following are key details:

  • What: That’s Voiceover! seminar
  • When: Thursday, October 6, 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: 8687 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90069

That’s Voiceover! will feature plenty of audience interaction with talent, and several talent agents will be in attendance; the seminar will also include a Q&A segment to include “real-life” audition scenarios. Two lucky audience members will win voiceover contracts with ACX, a division of Audible.com, and one lucky person will win a voiceover triumvirate: voicing a promo for CBS Vegas affiliate, a Hollywood voiceover agency contract with TGMD Talent Agency and a studio microphone from Neumann USA.

That’s Voiceover! presents a rare opportunity to gain an “inside view” of how the voiceover industry works and will provide plenty of expert advice on how to break into and succeed in this deeply rewarding, creative occupation. For more information, please visit www.thatsvoiceover.com.
