Donna Jay Fulks studied acting at NYU, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, and finally Columbia College in Chicago; where she earned her BFA. Settling in Chicago, she performed onstage and on-camera, before discovering her exceptional talent for voiceover. Without the benefit of classes or coaching, the early years of her busy career were trial by fire, as she learned her craft from behind the mic. Donna Jay developed a unique posture and devised helpful breathing techniques, gained from her years of singing and stage acting. She has worked continually since the mid 1990’s and has experience in all facets of the industry from gaming to promo–with lots of commercials in between. Notably, she was the exclusive voice of JcPenney from 2000-2010. Her current campaigns include Aveeno, Sears, Secret Deodorant, Safeway, Laughing Cow,
McDonald’s, and several others.
In 2008, Donna Jay returned to the stage in David Cromer’s acclaimed production of “Our Town.” After opening in Chicago, the production ran Off-Broadway for two years, and recently completed a run at the Broad Stage in
Santa Monica. Donna Jay is married to singer-songwriter Robbie Fulks and residesoutside Chicago with her family. Her work can be viewed at donnajayfulks.com.
